How to reach students through online teaching

I just found this book review in the Chronicle, and I’m really looking forward to reading it — Minds Online: Teaching Effectively With Technology, by Michelle Miller. What I like is that it shows that online learning can help anyone. Even if a student ends up transferring to a more traditional on-ground institution, online courses are a great way to get them into a program. I’ve noticed this with almost all of my Gen Ed courses; I think we are reaching students who never thought college was a possibility for them before, and that is exciting. Once we reach them, we have the chance to show them a whole world of new and interesting ideas. Here is the link for anyone interested:
